Daniel Razon advocates and supports human rights for the members of the media and journalism in the Philippines.  Being a journalist himself, he need not put himslf in the shoes of courageous men and women journalists to know their ordeals.  Because he is already one of them.

Test Broadcast 1 : A Cry for Freedom
Being a journalist himself, Daniel knows the plight of journalists who can get killed in the course of carrying out their tasks.  These courageous souls fight for truth, justice and the freedom of our country. And in his small way, Daniel helps the families of those who help protect our constitution and the people it stands for.

Daniel spearheaded Test Broadcast: A Cry for Freedom on November 13, 2006. Held at the biggest dome in Southeast Asia, the Araneta Coliseum, the benefit concert was a tribute to journalists and broadcasters who have been victims of extrajudicial killings.

During this highly-charged event, not only were valiant journalists hailed for their selfless service to our country, but the proceeds went to the raising of funds for the families of our slain heroes.  The children of the deceased journalits were granted scholarship grants and seed money for the family to start a business of their own.

Test Broadcast 2
Test Broadcast 2, a much-awaited follow-up to the initial benefit concert of 2006, happened on January 26, 2009.

The momentous event gathered journalists and broadcasters to the Araneta Coliseum and gave acknowledgments and lifetime achievement awards to deserving journalists, both alive and at rest.

True to the cause of the first Test Broadcast, the second concert also raised funds for the benefit of the families of the fallen men and women of media. Aside from financial help, the benefit concert paved the way for college scholarships to the children of the deceased.

Impressed by Daniel’s unwavering care for journalists, the first Kuya ng Bayan (The Nation’s Big Brother) Kuya Edgar “Eddie” Ilarde passed the title of Kuya to Kuya Daniel Razon because of his superb public service endeavors.

Other Support for the Media
To religiously help those who work for Philippine media, Kuya Daniel launched regular medical assistance for the members of the Movie Writers Welfare Foundation ( MWWF) every first Sunday of every month.
