PNP Chief ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa Lauds Kuya Daniel Razon’s Advocacy Film, Sincerity in Helping the Poor

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa expressed his admiration of Kuya Daniel Razon’s sincere efforts to help in resolving one of the country’s top problems – drug addiction.

Bihira po sa mga taong may pangalan ang magkaroon ng ganitong adbokasiya, kagaya po ng ginagawa ni Kuya Daniel,” said Dela Rosa.  

[It is rare to see individuals who are popular to launch advocacies similar to what Kuya Daniel is doing.]

The PNP Chief added that the veteran broadcast journalist really want to help the government in giving former drug addicts another lease in life.

Gusto niyang tumulong sa ating napakalaking problema sa ating bansa – itong problema natin sa droga. So from the bottom of our hearts, sa Philippine National Police, maraming salamat Kuya Daniel at sa inyong lahat.

[He really wants to help in resolving this very big problem of our country – this problem with illegal drugs. From the bottom of our hearts, us from the Philippine National Police, we thank you Kuya Daniel and all of you.]

General Dela Rosa also lauded Kuya Daniel’s sincerity in all of his advocacies, citing the veteran journalist not only supports government projects, but especially those who are in need of help.

For him, Kuya Daniel really walks his talk and that is the very reason why he gave his assurance to always fully support the veteran broadcast journalist’s advocacy.

Dela Rosa had a special participation in the ‘Isang Araw Lang: Ikatlong Yugto’, the third installment of the advocacy film which Kuya Daniel starred in, wrote and directed.  

This (movie) is very current. What is happening right now sa Pilipinas (ay) nakikita mo diyan sa movie na ‘yan. The movie itself… para kang nagbabasa ng libro about family … at marami kang lessons na matutunan sa palabas na (ito),” said the PNP Chief.

[This movie is very current. You will see in that movie what is happening right now in the Philippines. It was just like reading a book about family … and you will learn many lessons in this movie.]

The film held a special screening for the performers, production staff and special guests at the SM Skydome on December 19, 2016.

In producing and directing the film, the objective is to support and to serve as a morale booster for the Philippine National Police in their campaign against illegal drugs and criminalities in the country.

Dela Rosa also congratulated the whole production staff for the beautiful outcome of the ‘Isang Araw’ movie.

To Kuya Daniel, and to all the casts and those who helped create this film that is wonderful, I would like to give you this assurance that we (PNP) are in full support to the advocacy of Kuya Daniel,” said the PNP Chief.

For his part personally, Dela Rosa said he knows that since Kuya Daniel is sincere as a person, and will walk his talk, he will do his best to support, will not hesitate to commit and help.

Sabi ko, kahit anong gusto mong ipagawa sa akin gagawin ko dahil ikaw nga ginagawa mo na ‘yung gusto mong gawin para makatulong, so I will always fully support you.

[I said, whatever you want for me to do, I will do because you (Kuya Daniel) do all you can do to help. That’s why I will always fully support you.]

He also encourages the members of the police community and their families to watch the movie and hoping that the movie will be successful.

Message to the PNP Chief from Kuya Daniel

Meanwhile, Kuya Daniel expressed his full support to the Philippine National Police’s fights against criminality, promising that he will do his part to help.

Makakaasa po kayo General (Dela Rosa), kasama ng ating lahat na mga katulong sa public service, sa awa po ng Panginoon, kung ano po ang aming magagawa, we will support you all the way sa inyo pong kampanya laban sa mga kriminalidad,” said Kuya Daniel.

[You can expect, General, together with all who supports our public service, with God’s help, whatever it is that we can do, we will support you all the way in your fight against the rise of criminality.]

Meanwhile, part of the proceeds of the movie will go for the rehabilitation projects of the PNP and of Duterte’s administration for the rehabilitation of the hundreds of thousands drug surrenderees.

Part of the proceeds will actually be used to help them (drug surrenderees) para doon sa ating pagnanais na maibangon ‘yong mga dating nalugmok sa mga ganitong klase ng bisyo, at makapagbagong buhay at makapag-hanapbuhay, madetoxify, and at the same time ma-rehabilitate talaga sila,” Kuya Daniel told UNTV News.

[Part of the proceeds will actually be used to help drug surrenderees that will help them have another lease in life, get employed, get their bodies detoxified, and at the same time, for them to receive full rehabilitation.]

Led by multi-awarded actress and the Philippines Superstar, Nora Aunor, other veteran artists cast in the film include Rey PJ Abellana, Ms. Gina Pareño, and Ms. Jackie Lou Blanco, Lara Quigaman, Jess Lapid, Ronnie Quizon and Wendell Ramos.

Aside from teen heartthrob Marlo Mortel, Alex Diaz, and Michelle Vito, comedians Bayani Agbayani, Robbie Packing, Janna, and Karen Gaerlan also starred in the film.
