As Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon celebrated his 33rd year of service to God and humanity on November 28 this year, UNTV and its partners in public service conducted a “Mega Medical Mission” on the same day at the Mandaluyong City Gymnasium in Maysilo Circle.

The public service event, which benefitted almost 5,000 people in the area, came as a surprise gift for Kuya Daniel.

The area was selected to help the victims of a massive fire that happened this November and lasted for seven hours at Brgy. Addition Hills in Mandaluyong, leaving thousands of families homeless. Around 5,000 individuals were temporarily housed in evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,504 individuals received non-medical services such as livelihood seminars, haircut, consultation with government agencies and legal advice.

The event is open to all regardless of race, gender or religious affiliation. Attendees received free medicines and eyeglasses. They also enjoyed free reflexology massage to relieve stress and grooming haircut for men. Breakfast and food packs for lunch were also served.

Fire victims were also given grocery items which is good for one family, blankets, mats, used clothing and slippers for children.

Several government agencies gathered for a one-stop social service shop. Different agencies put up kiosks at the venue to assist attendees on processing of membership application, benefits and other inquiries.

Seen in the location include the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) of Mandaluyong City, Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF, also known as Pag-ibig Fund), Philhealth, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA, formerly NSO) and Registry of Deeds of Mandaluyong City.

Aside from volunteer doctors, nurses and health professionals, certain groups also gave their support for the humanitarian activity. These include Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Civil Military Operations Battalion, Federation of Senior Citizens, PTAC, Soledad Family and Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Partylist.

Message from Kuya Daniel

In his morning show Good Morning Kuya, Kuya Daniel conveyed his gratitude over the surprise gift for him.

[We are thankful for the continuity of these public services, that is not only held just for today. I am absolutely thankful to our “kasangbahay,” to all the members of the UNTV family, to all our fellow [brethren] in the [Members] Church of God International led by Bro. Eli Soriano, for all the support in our public services to further reach out to our fellowmen and help them in their conditions in life.]

[Thank you because it is one thing that we wanted to continue [Just One Day cause] … isn’t it that we are asking lawyers, doctors, and others who can extend their help to our countrymen for free, even just for one day out of the 365 days, to do medical check-ups in our clinic for free, to provide free legal advice, that would mean a lot.]

Launched in 2009 by Kuya Daniel, the “Isang Araw Lang” (Just One Day) advocacy aims to encourage everyone to share their God-given talents, skills and resources to help the less fortunate, even in just a day.

[Thank you for the solidarity, to all those who remembered. In my celebration of the 33rd year in service to our Lord and to our fellow men, I am deeply thankful, first to the Lord, and to everyone who partake in giving service to our countrymen. May this serve as a legacy that we can leave, if we rest in peace sometime in the future, there is one thing that needs to be continued, doing good to our fellow men. And we always say, “Doing good will not bring forth evil.”]

November 28, 1983 is the date of Kuya Daniel’s baptism in the Members Church of God International (MCGI). MCGI is known for its program “Ang Dating Daan,” hosted by MCGI Overall Servant (Presiding Minister) and international televangelist Bro. Eli Soriano.

Kuya Daniel is currently the Assistant Overall Servant to MCGI.

New Project for Reformation of Drug Surrenderers

The Do More Award Ultimate Luminary awardee also announced another project, in partnership with the government, for the reformation of drug surrenderers.

Kuya Daniel also encouraged everyone to constantly do good.

“I just wish na araw-araw is a big public service day, at magagawa naman po natin ‘yan kung bawat isa sa atin, kung ano yung pwede nating magawa; let’s grab the opportunity to do what is good.”

[I just wish that every day is a big public service day, and we can have it done, if each and every one of us will give what we can do, so let’s grab the opportunity to do what is good.”]
