UNTV’s Serbisyong Kasangbahay, MCGI Volunteers Join Clean-Up Drive in Millard Campground in U.S.

Expanding its community service overseas, UNTV’s Serbisyong Kasangbahay, together with volunteers from Members Church of God International (MCGI), took part in a clean-up drive in Millard Campground in Los Angeles, California last September this year.

Also known as Millard Trail Camp, the campsite is needing community support to help restore the cleanliness and order of the place. Rangers from the Gabriel Mountains Angeles National Monument organized the clean-up initiative.

District Recreation Officer Dennis Merkel told UNTV News and Rescue in an interview that their budgets always get reduced. He added that they don’t have the manpower to take care of things like this and needed a community support.

The assistance provided by UNTV and MCGI volunteers include cleaning up the surroundings, painting the walls, and clearing the eroded soil in parking areas and campground. Volunteers also cleared fallen tree branches to prevent road accidents and obstructions as well as forest fires.

Merkel thanked UNTV and MCGI for sending them huge number of volunteers in the clean-up effort.

Serbisyong Kasangbahay is UNTV News and Rescue’s public service program hosted by Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon.

Millard Campground’s clean-up effort is just one of Serbisyong Kasangbahay’s public services since the program was started mid this year.

A public service program inspired by Kuya Daniel’s advocacy, Just One Day, Serbisyong Kasangbahay has also responded to the different plights of many Filipinos, such as a liver transplant for a 2 year-old baby, a cholecystitis (swollen gallbladder) surgery for one housewife and free airline tickets for stranded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia.

Together with UNTV’s public service partners, hospital bills were also waived for a woman who underwent myomectomy or operation to remove fibroid tumours (myomas) from the uterus and financial aid for an epileptic toddler with speech disorder last August.

Just One Day encourages everyone to do good deeds for others even for just a day.

Asked what keeps Serbisyong Kasangbahay and all other UNTV’s public services going, Kuya Daniel always replies that it is the generous help of God.
