Daniel Razon’s Rotary in Action Reaps Public Relations Award

Daniel Razon receives the Public Image Leadership Award in behalf of Rotary in Action, a program he conceptulalized to promote the group Rotary Club.

Rotary in Action, a brainchild of Daniel Razon, was granted a public relations award by the Rotary International.

Rotary International is a service organization with 34,000 clubs worldwide. It’s 1.2 million members are composed of business and professional leaders committed to providing humanitarian service and building goodwill and world peace.

For its valuable role in keeping the good image of the Rotary Club to the rotarians and to the public, the Rotary Institute (RI) of Asia Pacific Region in Bali, Indonesia awarded the Public Image Coordinators PR Award to UNTV’s Rotary in Action. The award came in just less than two months after Daniel Razon received a Vocational Service Award from the Rotary Club Kamuning Chapter.

Lyne Alano Abanilla, RI Public Image Coordinator in South Pacific, handed the plaque to Kuya Daniel during the program’s live airing last Wednesday (December 7).

In an interview with UNTV reporters, Abanilla said that the Rotary International is grateful for Kuya Daniel’s initiative, saying, “Thank you UNTV, thank you Rotary in Action, thank you Kuya Daniel for this amazing idea of coming up with a program that will allow Rotarians to come over and help us spread the good news of Rotary.”

Surprised with the recognition, Kuya Daniel thanked the administration of the Rotary International. “Well, I was surprised. I was told that Rotary in Action was recognized by the Rotary International itself. We thank the organization for the acknowledgment,” he said in Filipino.

He added that the service club can always expect that with or without recognition, he and UNTV will continue, with God’s help, what they have started.

Besides its regular airing on UNTV every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., Rotary in Action is also heard over Radyo La Verdad (1350 khz), the newly acquired AM radio station of the Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI).

Also recently, 20 UNTV programs including Rotary in Action, received the Anak TV Seal from the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television. The seal is given to television shows that are child-friendly.

Incidentally, in the 8th Golden Screen TV Awards of the Entertainment Press Society, Inc., Kuya Daniel was awarded Outstanding Male News Presenter. He was the pioneer awardee in said category.
