UNTV and MCGI Volunteers Join DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela Cleanup Drive

To help the Department of Education prepare for the school opening this June, UNTV and Members Church of God International (MCGI) volunteers held a series of Brigada Eskwela from North to South Philippine provinces.

The school cleanup and maintenance effort conducted from May 18 to 23 this year is part of Kuya Daniel Razon’s “Kahit Isang Araw Lang” advocacy through UNTV.

Brigada Eskwela is an academic year starter project initiated by the Department of Education, which coincides with the National Maintenance Week. For one whole week, volunteers join in the cleanup drive to ready public schools for the coming school year and to inspire volunteerism.

This year’s theme is “Tayo Para sa Kalinisan, Kaligtasan at Kahandaan ng Ating mga Paaralan.”

In Metro Manila, UNTV volunteers joined parents and students in cleaning Emilio Jacinto Elementary School in Tondo, Maria Conception Cruz High School in Pateros, and Tunasan Elementary School in Muntinlupa City, among many other schools.

Cleanup and repair drive was also organized in other regions of the country, such as in Benguet, Davao City, and Negros Occidental.

The Bible Readers Society or BRead Society also took part in this community service project of UNTV.

Besides Brigada Eskwela, UNTV and Kuya Daniel also partnered with DepEd to educate out-of-school Filipinos through a school-on-wheels program called Dunong-Gulong.

Other education-centered projects of Kuya Daniel include full scholarship at La Verdad Christian School and College and Manibela Academy, a mobile driving school for aspiring drivers.
