The UmalohokJUan Awards, an annual communication media event sponsored by the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), searches for exemplary individuals, groups and programs that promote justice, unity and nationalism. Now on its third year but the first time to give special citations, the UmalohokJUan Awards speaks of the values endorsed by its LPU founder, late Philippine President Jose P. Laurel.

Prof. Rebecca G. Nieto-Litan of the LPU-Manila Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Multimedia Art College of Arts and Sciences revealed that the good thing about Dr. Razon is that he is giving importance to the ordinary people.

“A lot of us in the Faculty appreciates what Dr. Razon does in UNTV, how he helps the needy,” Prof. Nieto-Litan said in an interview during the UmalohokJUan Awards 2016 in the LPU Manila Campus. “This really is the primary consideration as to why Dr. Razon is among those who were chosen to receive a commendation.”

Prof. Nieto-Litan also thanked Dr. Razon for doing public service. “We, at the Lyceum are delighted and honored to award you a special citation because of your commitment to do public service through broadcasting.”

Furthermore, Prof. Rebecca urged Dr. Razon to please continue what he has been doing because he has really been helping the poor a lot.

Dubbed as Mr. Public Service, Dr. Razon is Chairman and CEO of BMPI-UNTV Life. Breakthrough and Milestones Production International is the content provider of UNTV Life, which produces pro-poor programs aiming to provide spiritual, financial, medical and legal assistance to those who are in need regardless of upbringing and religion.
