A huge crowd of runners gathered at the starting line long before daylight began to break on January 31st.

When running goes beyond being just a sports event, others also go beyond what they can to take part in its noble cause.

Kenyan runners Willy Tanui, Miscelle Gilbuena, and Kiberess Kember participated in the half-marathon with the former two finishing 1st place in the men and women's divisions of the 21-kilometer race, respectively.

...and men of the Philippine National Police Academy's Marathon Corps Squad also took their share of worthwhile running for the La Verdad Christian College scholars.

Till the sun finally lighted the site, swarms of supporters of the Just One Day advocacy continued to overwhelm the streets of the Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.

The Fun Run of the event looked more like a "Fun Walk" as the runners struggled to get far away from the starting line.

Runners went around the world's third largest shopping mall, the SM Mall of Asia, near Manila Bay in Pasay City, Philippines.

The sun shone but left it's heat on January 31st, making it a cool Sunday morning for tens of thousands of runners to revel in.

The only heat that rose to tropical temperatures that day was that brought by the event's leading light, "Kuya" Daniel Razon, as he came in to spearhead the Ceremonial Race of the event.

Running side by side with Kuya Daniel is the director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Gen. Dionisio Santiago, in support of the veteran broadcaster's effort to help poor students have a brighter future ahead of them.
